It is best if that image has a black background as I found out doing my own groups. It is easiest if you have the image you want to use ready to go before you create the group. That way you can create the group in one fell swoop and don't need to edit later.

I want to use this truly as a social networking vehicle and thus have more of a 'personal' touch to it, but still discuss professional issues about computational science. Sort of a market research vehicle for you and me.
